In his only year on the varsity at Ossining, he averaged 20.6 points, 8.1 rebounds, three assists, and three steals, guiding the squad to its first conference title in ten years.

Toppin picked and finally enrolled in Mt. Zion Preparatory School in Baltimore, Maryland, as a proficient player with no NCAA Division I offers.

He finished his senior year of high school there.

Toppin has a career scoring average of 17 points, eight rebounds, and four assists, and his height ranges from four inches to 2.06 meters, or 6 feet 9 inches.

Toppin injured his left ankle while playing against the University of Massachusetts on January 11, 2020. He, on the other hand, did not miss a single game.
