Ore Oduba enrolled in The Network, an Edinburgh television festival program, to seek a career in sports broadcasting.

Oduba joined Newsround in August 2008, following the departures of Lizo Mzimba and Laura Jones.

His initial role on the show was as a breakfast bulletin reporter and presenter.

He was immediately elevated to deputy presenter in 2009, standing in for Sonali Shah, the primary presenter, when she was unavailable.
