Oscar Tshiebwe was born in Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of Congo, on November 27, 1999. After Tshiebwe began attending Kennedy Catholic High School, Jeff Kollar and his wife, who live near the school, became his legal guardians.
Previously, Mohamed and Sagaba Konate, Kennedy Catholic basketball players, were guardians of Kollar and his wife. Sagaba Konate was a basketball player for the Mountaineers of West Virginia University.
He attended a basketball clinic led by Bismack Biyombo, a Congolese NBA player who assisted him in furthering his career. In May of 2014, Tshiebwe began playing basketball. Oscar attended Mountain Mission School for his education and traveled to West Virginia (2019–2021) and Kentucky (2021–present) for his college education.

Oscar Tshiebwe- Professional Career
Tshiebwe arrived in the United States in November 2015, just in time to begin his freshman year of high school, and enrolled at Mountain Mission School in Grundy, Virginia.
For his junior year, he switched to Kennedy Catholic High School in Hermitage, Pennsylvania. As a junior, Tshiebwe averaged 21.1 points per game while leading his team to a Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) Class 1A title.
He was chosen to the Class 1A All-State team’s first team. In his senior season, Tshiebwe averaged 23.4 points, 18 rebounds, and five blocks per game while leading Kennedy Catholic to a 24–3 record and the PIAA Class 6A championship.
He was named Pennsylvania Gatorade Player of the Year and was named to the Class 6A first-team All-State squad. He averaged 21.6 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 3.1 blocks per game for ITPS Wildcats Select on the Adidas Gauntlet. Tshiebwe played on teams in the McDonald’s All-American Game and the Nike Hoop Summit.
Oscar had an 8-and-a-half point and 7.8-rebound average in ten huge games as a sophomore before leaving West Virginia for personal reasons. After considering Miami (Fla.), NC State, and Illinois, Tshiebwe transferred to Kentucky on January 10th, 2021.
