Russ Martin was arrested in July 2008 on domestic assault allegations against his then-girlfriend, Mandy Blake.

After the radio presenter pleaded not guilty to the charges, the pair split up. Following the incident, he received two years of probation and a $1,000 fine.

Martin has never spoken openly about his love life afterward. It’s unknown whether he was married or in a relationship with someone before his death.

Martin was discovered comatose at his Frisco, Texas home on February 27, 2021. His cause of death, however, is unknown at this time.

No foul play was suspected, according to police. For years, he had struggled with health issues, including heart surgery.

In 1983, he began working as a weekend disc jockey for KAAM 1310 AM in Dallas.

He worked part-time for Satellite Music Network and Z-Rock while remaining at KAFM and KAAM.

Martin began working at Top 40 station KEGL, The Eagle, in Dallas in 1987.

From 1988 to 1994, he also hosted the FOX station KDAF’s television series Hot Tickets and Hot TV.

He worked at Live 105.3 from 2000 to 2008. In 2010, he returned to radio to host The Russ Martin Show on The Eagle 97.1.

His long career with KEGL came to an end with his untimely death.
