Russ Martin was arrested in July 2008 on domestic assault allegations against his then-girlfriend, Mandy Blake.

From 1988 to 1994, he also hosted the FOX station KDAF’s television series Hot Tickets and Hot TV.
He worked at Live 105.3 from 2000 to 2008. In 2010, he returned to radio to host The Russ Martin Show on The Eagle 97.1.
His long career with KEGL came to an end with his untimely death.
