Stevie Wonder had a brief affair with Lencola Sullivan, a singer and beauty queen who was the first African American woman to win the Miss Arkansas beauty pageant. 

Wonder allegedly dated jazz vocalist Maysa Leak in the early 1990s while she was working as a background singer for him.

Stevie began dating singer-songwriter Brenda Russell in the early 2000s. 

According to some tabloids, they became friends while working on the tune, Justice of the Heart, which Stevie sang for the Denzel Washington film, John Q.

Stevie is said to have previously had an affair with singer and composer Minnie Riperton. 

It has been reported that she died while listening to a recording created specifically for her by Stevie.

Stevie’s first marriage, however, did not survive even two years, as they split in 1972 after only 18 months of marriage.

In the year 1970, Wonder teamed with his wife, Sylvia, on his next album, named ‘Where I’m Coming From.’ 

Furthermore, the record had a moderate hit upon its release the next year.

The release of his album ‘Music of My Mind’ in March 1972 has been regarded as the beginning of Wonder’s “classic phase.”
