Takumi Minamino- Professional Career

Minamino joined the Cerezo Young team at the age of 12 after making steady progress on the pitch.

Takumi took part in Japan’s U15 Club Youth Soccer Championship Tournament in August 2009 and helped his club finish eighth.

Although defeated in the quarterfinals, Takumi finished the tournament as the competition’s leading scorer with eight goals.

Likewise, in 2011, Takumi went to the Cerezo Osaka U18 team and participated in the Takamadomiya Cup JFA U-18 Soccer Premier League.

With nine goals this time, Minamino moved into fourth place.

After two years in the minor teams, he was finally promoted to the main team in August 2012.

Takumi then made his official debut as a replacement for Takuma Edamura on November 17, 2012.
