Tim Curry was born on April 19, 1946, in the Cheshire suburb of Grappenhall, North West England, to James and Patricia Curry.
His father died when he was only 12 years old.
He went to Lymm High School before transferring to Kingswood School.
He enrolled at the University of Birmingham to study English and Drama, graduating with Combined Honors in 1968.

His first notable work was a stage musical titled Hair production. Tim joined the Royal Shakespeare Company for a few productions in 1970.
His big break came in 1973 when he played Dr. Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Show at the Royal Court Theatre. This would go on to be the role for which he would be remembered the most. In 1975, he appeared in a re-enactment of the film.
Following the success of The Rocky Horror Show, he starred in the 1978 horror film The Shout. He played Robert Graves in the horror film The Shout two years later.
Curry has starred in films such as The Hunt for Red October, Congo, The Addams Family Reunion, and the 1999 classic Pirates of the Caribbean.
Tim Curry is also a successful musician, having released his first album, Read My Lips, in 1978, and his second album, Fearless, the following year, with songs like Paradise Garage charting well. Simplicity, his third album, was released in 1981.
