Tiwa Savage was born on February 5, 1980, in Isale Eko, Lagos State, Nigeria. She later moved to London for secondary school when she was 11 years old. Tiwa Savage was raised in a multicultural environment by her parents. When she was eleven years old, her mother, Cecilia Savage, and father moved to London.

During an interview with American OAP Angie Martinez of Power 105.1, she revealed that an unknown person is blackmailing her and threatening to release a sex tape featuring her and her current boyfriend.

The blackmailer demanded money from the Koroba singer in exchange for her not releasing the sex tape, but she refused. A sex video was recently uploaded to the internet.
