Professional Career

After passing an audition in Daegu, V was hired as a trainee for Big Hit Entertainment. In 2013, he debuted as a member of BTS on Mnet’s M Countdown. He also recorded a duet for the soundtrack called “It’s Definitely You” with bandmate Jin.

In 2020, V sang “Good Night” for the soundtrack of the JTBC drama Itaewon Class, which also charted at number two on Billboard’s U.S. Digital Song Sales chart.

The song also set a record for the highest debut for a Korean solo artist in the history of the chart. The arrangement, vocal performance, and warm lyrics of the song were also praised.
