Yamiche Alcindor was born in Miami, Florida in 1987. She was born in Haiti to Haitian parents. Yamiche Alcindor is an American citizen. She had wanted to be a journalist since she was a teenager.

She graduated from Georgetown University in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in English and government and a minor in African-American studies.

Later, in 2015, she graduated from New York University with a master’s degree in “broadcast television and documentary filmmaking.”

Yamiche: Professional Career

Her first full-time work, according to her career, was as a reporter for Newsday, a newspaper headquartered in Melville, New York. Later that year, she was hired as a multimedia reporter for USA Today in New York City.

She worked as an assistant at publications such as the Westside Gazette, a small African-American daily, while she was in high school.

The National Association of Black Journalists called her “Emerging Journalist of the Year” in 2013. In 2013, she started appearing as a guest on NBC News and MSNBC.
