Nathan Fielder: Birth, Parents, & Education

Nathan Joseph Fielder was born on May 12, 1983, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

His parents, Eric and Deb Fielder, were both social workers and of Jewish ancestry.

Growing up in Vancouver, he was always interested in performance and humor, so he would steal his mother’s Dictaphone and record comedy to later rewind and memorize.

Because he was so concerned with comedic performance, the young Fielder would write scripts for imaginary sitcoms.

He attended Point Grey Secondary School for his schooling. He was a member of the school’s comedy club as well as its musical theater while there.

Nathan Fielder: Professional Career

Aside from acting and humor, he was fascinated with magic, which he discovered when he was 13 years old. He was working in a magic store at the time and also performed at children’s birthday parties.

Although one would assume that for a person like him, he would study something related to performance in college, Nathan Fielder instead studied business and marketing at the University of Victoria.

Despite the fact that he earned money trading stocks online, Fielder was unhappy because he thought he was profiting off the creativity of others when he could just as easily produce. As a result, he decided to start doing stand-up comedy, and then he began filming humorous clips.

Nathan Fielder landed a position on Canadian Idol, where he was charged with producing humorous pieces as well as interviewing candidates.

Before appearing on Canadian Idol, the comedian received the Tim Sims Encouragement Fund Award in 2006. As a result of his work on Canadian Idol, he was recruited as a field reporter by CBC’s Michael Donovan. He started his Nathan on Your Side series there.

Nathan For You, based on his previous CBC program Nathan on Your Side, premiered on Comedy Central in 2013. After its fourth season, the program ran from 2013 until 2017.

Nathan Fielder is also an actor, having featured in the 2017 film The Disaster Artist as well as the 2016 television program Transparent.

Nathan Fielder: Relationship Status

Nathan Fielder hasn’t always had the greatest relationship with ladies. However, he was able to improve on this and met a lady called Sarah Ziolkowska in 2007, who quickly became his girlfriend.

Sarah Ziolkowska, a children’s librarian, and the comedian met in Canada. Although the year Fielder and Sarah married is unknown, the pair remained together until 2014, when their marriage terminated in divorce.

Fielder, as a comic, could make virtually any subject, no matter how delicate, hilarious. However, he has always tried to avoid discussing his divorce, claiming that it, like all other breakups, was difficult.
