She was defeated by Kweisi Mfume of the Democratic Party, receiving only 25.1 percent of the votes cast. Klacik received the most votes in the November 2020 congressional election, accounting for 69 percent. She was also chosen to speak on the first day of the Republican National Convention in 2020.
