Miura first published a prototype of Berserk in Hakusensha’s Gekkan ComiComi in 1988, which came in second place at the 7th ComiComi’s Manga-School competition.

Bershek became Miura’s most recognized and popular work after its entire serialization, with over 50 million copies in circulation, including digital versions, as of May 2021.
