After leading the team to the 1994 Rose Bowl Championship and being voted the 1995 Most Valuable Player in the Outback Bowl’s Hall of Fame, Terrell distinguished himself as an outstanding player in his junior year.

He had 1,943 receiving yards and 3,414 running yards throughout his college career, including 25 touchdowns on 614 carries.

Terrell’s professional playing career began when the San Diego Chargers selected him as the 51st overall choice in the second round of the 1995 NFL Draft, establishing his net worth. Between 1995 and 2002, he was a member of the team for his entire eight-year tenure.

On 26 carries, he rushed for 140 yards and one touchdown in his debut season.

In the following year, his game numbers improved, and he became noted for his receiving abilities, as he led all running backs in catches from 1996 through 2000. Terrell also led the team in rushing with 384 yards on 116 touches in 2000.

He resigned the next year to a four-year contract worth $6.3 million, but Terrell gained notoriety in 2001 and 2002 for having only one touchdown.

He was limited to only ten games in 2002 due to a sprained ankle. His professional playing career came to an end after the season, when he was released by the Chargers, along with other players like Curtis Conway and Rodney Harrison.
