Paula Ebben was born on November 9, 1966, in Boston, Massachusetts, to Dr. Bob Blute and the late Dame Mrs. Anne-Marie Blute of the House of Malta. 

Ebben grew up in Shrewsbury, Boston, with her ten older siblings, and she enjoyed every minute of it.

Today, one of Paula’s brothers is the respected Peter I. Blute, who was named vice chairman of the Massachusetts Republican Party on December 21, 2011.

Politics runs in Blute’s family, as evidenced by his grandpa, Paul H. Hines, who was a state representative and an adviser to Mayor John Hynes. 

Peter F. Hines, her uncle, served on the Boston City Council from 1958 to 1968 and ran for Mayor in 1967.

Dr. Bob Blute and Dame Anne-Marie Blute were and continue to be proud grandparents and great-grandparents of twenty-five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren!

It is worth noting that the Blute family was named “the 10th out of 50 families that control Boston” by Boston magazine in 2005.

From 1981 to 1985, she attended Notre Dame Academy in Worcester, Massachusetts, and then graduated in English from Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts.
