Vester began her journalism career after graduating with an internship at CBS News’ Paris Bureau in 1985 and Boston Bureau in 1986-87.

She gave up her Fulbright scholarship to work as a foreign journalist for NBC News.

She began her schooling at the National Broadcasting Company in 1989 and completed her education at WFLA-TV.

When Iraq invaded Kuwait in 1990, NBC temporarily assigned her to report from Saudi Arabia for its affiliate stations. 

She returned to WFLA-TV in 1992, after the Gulf War ended. 

She was then moved to a full-time correspondent for NBC’s Weekend Today Program in 1993.

She was sent back to the United States in 1996 to report from NBC’s Chicago Bureau.

After a year, she was promoted to NBC News anchor at Sunshine and relocated to New York. 

Fox Channel hired her to broadcast its afternoon show in 1999.

Three years later, in 2002, Fox News Channel launched Dayside with Linda Vester, a news program with a live audience. 

She worked for his program in this capacity until July 2005, when she became pregnant with her second kid.

Later that month, in July 2006, she announced that she would not be joining Fox Channel. 

Then, she and her husband began working with the Posse Foundation, which is currently funding the college education of a group of Iraq and Afghanistan veterans.
