Amy Assiter- Professional Career

Amy’s past before her foray into auctioneering is shrouded in mystery.

She began her career as a professional auctioneer in 1998, working as a commodity broker for KIS Commodities, and within a year she was named Oklahoma State Auctioneers Association (SAA) Rookie Champion.

She became the Oklahoma State Reserve Champion in 2000, making her the first female in the association’s history to accomplish both honors.

Soon after, she won the International Auctioneer Championship (IAC) Women’s Division, giving her the industry’s most prized title.

She won it on her first try, making her the winner of the most titles in the least amount of time.

During her first year as IAC, she worked as a Goodwill Ambassador for the National Auctioneers Association (NAA).

She continued to make headlines in the field over the next few years, eventually landing a job with Barrett-Jackson in 2003.

Barrett Jackson is an auction firm situated in Scottsdale, Arizona that bills itself as the world’s greatest collector automobile auction, with their auctions being televised on the channel Speed TV.

Assiter demonstrated her abilities on national television, and as one of the world’s best female auctioneers, she also became a favorite instructor at the Worldwide College of Auctioneering, as well as a private coach and mentor to many rising stars.

Despite having much of her expertise with classic automobiles, she has also held auctions for real estate and heavy equipment, among other things.

Despite having been with the company for over two decades, Amy quietly severed her relationship with Barrett-Jackson in 2018.

While there was much conjecture about her departure at first, it was later revealed that her husband had also departed Barrett-Jackson after the two had a contract issue with the company, which was enough for them to move their skills elsewhere.

Amy conducted many auctions for other companies after leaving the company, before eventually co-founding her own auction company, Assiter Auctioneers, with her husband.

They’ve done a number of real estate auctions as part of the company and have swiftly developed a name for themselves, owing to the two Assiter’s who lead the team.

She also continues to make frequent appearances at vehicle auctions across the country and remains active with major auctioneering organizations, frequently participating in their events.

She is on the International Auctioneer Champion Competition Committee.

She was very active on both accounts starting in 2012, chronicling some of her auctioneering experiences, and also used the platforms to engage with her followers and promote her events.

However, after some time, she chose to cease writing on her accounts, only making one post about her mother before deciding to become dormant on both of her accounts.
