When The Godfather Part III was set to begin shooting in 1990, the 59-year-old actor urged his uncle, “I really think I ought to be in your movie.”

“I said, ‘I truly believe I ought to be in your movie, Uncle,” Cage remarked in an interview with other Hollywood celebrities for The Hollywood Reporter.

Francis Ford was planning to cast Andy Garcia, but Cage explained that he sees himself as James Caan’s son, and he’s portraying Sonny’s son. “In the role, he is not Michael’s son.
