Hall of Fame defensive lineman who gained a reputation as one of the fiercest defensive players in the NFL during the late ’40s and early ’50s. He played his entire career with the Cleveland Browns, making Pro Bowls in each of his eight NFL seasons and winning the NFL Championship in 1950. Bill Willis was born on October 5, 1921, in Ohio. He won the 1950 NFL Championship with the help of legendary Browns quarterback Otto Graham. He attended Columbus East High School and, later, Ohio State University, where his #99 jersey was eventually retired.
