Bubba Nickles- Professional Career

Nickles started her softball career as a four-year starter at pitcher and shortstop for Merced High School in Merced, California, where she was also named Gatorade National Softball Player of the Year and Gatorade California State Player of the Year as a senior. With 10 runs scored, 30 RBI, six home runs, and eight doubles, she hit.690.

She was named the Cal-Hi Sports Large School and Merced Sun-Star Player of the Year, as well as the Central California Conference Most Valuable Player for the third time in her career.

Nickles spent the summer of 2015 with the USA Junior Women’s National Team and the summer of 2016 with the USA Elite Team. She also represented the United States in the World Cup of Softball and the World Championships that year, hitting a home run, driving in 14 runs, and walking six times.

At the World Championships, the team won gold, and at the World Cup, they finished fourth. She was a member of the USA Softball Junior Women’s National Team at the WBSC Junior Women’s World Championship in 2017.

She was named to Softball America’s First Team All-American and the NFCA’s Second Team All-American teams in 2019.

In the same year, she hit.82 and had a batting average of.390 in 62 games. In October 2019, Bubba was named to the United States Softball Olympic Team for the 2020 Summer Olympics. Bubba has been playing in the Women’s College World Series since 2021.
