the Taylorsville Police Station and told officers that men were after him and that he was afraid for his life.
According to the family, the police refused Carter’s request for a ride to the Super 8
motel in Laurel because he didn’t have a car at the time and said it was beyond their jurisdiction.
According to his relatives, he went to the Police station early the next morning, pleading with them to help him, but they once again refused.
He apparently warned his mother that if something happened to him,
she should launch an investigation in that region since white males were pursuing him.
Shonda Wright, his cousin, told WLBT that he had told his mother,
Tiffany, about a white truck with white men inside threatening to hurt him. He did tell her the names.
He vanished into thin air. The Smith County Sheriff’s Office reported
the next day after Carter’s remains were discovered on Facebook that nothing was unusual.

was raised in Fayette, Mississippi, where she was born in October 1996.
Rasheem was brutally murdered when he was 25 years old, and his body was located in a forested area in Taylorsville’s rural sector.
Rasheem, who played baseball and football in high school, graduated in 2015.
He then went on to study cutting and welding at a local community college.
Carter’s relatives and friends described him as kind, outgoing, and driven by business concerns.
He also established a fish company in Fayette, according to the records.
