Casey graduated from the College of Charleston as a three-time National Champion equestrian and Division I NCAA runner-up. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in economics and a minor in French.

She was a member of the Omicron Delta Epsilon honor society for economics and the Pi Delta Phi honor society for French in college.

Her husband recently announced that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer in a written statement on October 4, 2021. He stated,

“It is with great sadness that I inform you that Florida’s esteemed First Lady and my beloved wife has been diagnosed with breast cancer.” Casey is the heart of our family, and her initiatives as First Lady have touched the lives of countless Floridians.

As she faces the most difficult challenge of her life, she will have not only my unwavering support but also the support of our entire family, as well as the prayers and well wishes of Floridians across our state.”

Although the current stage of her cancer is unknown because neither Ron nor the major media outlets have reported on it. There has also been no word on whether or not any of her family members have breast cancer.
