Damian Lillard- Professional Career
Damian did not have a particularly successful high school basketball career due to his frequent transfers, but he did manage to set several records and lead the team to several victories during his junior and senior years.
Despite the fact that Rivals.com rated him as a two-star player, he chose to attend Weber University and pursue a successful career. For Weber’s college team, the Wildcats, he began playing in the Big Star Conference, an NCAA Division 1 affiliate. In 2012, he was named Freshman of the Year and the first All-Big Sky selection.
The following year, he continued to excel and broke new marks while helping his team to the Big Sky Conference title. He was selected Big Sky Player of the Year after performing admirably throughout the season.
He had an injury in his junior year and missed the majority of the 2011 season, but in a game against San Jose State, he recorded the best ever score in college and was named the Big Sky’s second player of the year. In order to prepare for the 2012 NBA draft, he did not play in his final year.
