When the country of Zimbabwe was created and Robert Mugabe took power, Walker (who was, at the time, serving as Deputy Chairman of Parliamentary Committees in Zimbabwe), escaped to England to avoid being arrested by Mugabe’s regime. In his early hood years, he participated in Protestant missionary work in the southern region of Africa.
