He has been on Comedy Central’s “Live at Gotham” and “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson,” as well as in clubs and theaters across the country.

Erik Myers, a Florida native, died in a car accident near Amarillo on his way to Dallas to perform at Hyena’s Comedy Nightclub on Tuesday.
According to The Comic’s Comic, Myers was on his way to Dallas for a weekend of comedy engagements at Hyena’s Comedy Club, where he planned to perform his legendary show.
A van was traveling north on the highway around 5:50 a.m. when officials alleged Myers was wandering in the northbound lane.
The driver failed to notice him and struck him with his truck.
He was pronounced dead on the scene. The crash is currently under investigation.
Following his death, many of his friends and the comedy community, in general, took to social media to express their condolences.
“Hyena’s Dallas will be closed tonight,” Hyena’s announced yesterday.
Take it easy, Erik Myers. “Among the best.” He recently announced the death of his father, Richard, on his Instagram page.

Myers remarked that as a gay guy, he felt forced from a young age to create a false character.
He stated that having a partner would assist him in feeling the way he was “supposed” to feel.
He became Christian at the age of 13 and later became an enthusiastic evangelical, he said.
Myers and Lung immediately became friends and began traveling together regularly.
Myers took on numerous aliases and odd jobs that didn’t require identification.
His ‘daughter Kirsten, now 30 years old, struggled to avoid thinking about her Father’s disappearance for the entire time Eric’s family was left to live without them. She looked for ways to alleviate her pain.
His life tale has elicited mixed emotions in the media, with many questioning his motivations and wondering whether abandoning one’s children is suitable.
Nonetheless, he is hardly the only person to have deserted his family only to return years later.
“I know a lot of [gay] individuals who would never do this and would never blame it on their homosexuality,” the youngest daughter, Kirsten Myers Ruggiano, told ABC.
“I don’t believe he is capable of loving… anyone other than himself.”
