Swedish figure skater who won three Olympic gold medals in the 1920s, at the 1920 Antwerp, 1924 Chamonix, and 1928 St. Moritz games. Gillis Grafstrom was born on June 7, 1893 in Sweden. He is a member of the World Figure Skating Hall of Fame along with Japanese-American skater Kristi Yamaguchi. He won his first Olympic gold medal at the 1920 event at Antwerp despite breaking a skate during the competition.
