The late English professional golfer was regarded as one of the game’s most respected and accomplished players. Between 1988 and 2004, Barry won five European Tour (now DP World Tour) events. He made 693 appearances, ranking fourth on the tour’s all-time list.
In addition, he competed in the 1993 Ryder Cup and won the first Andersen Consulting World Championship in late 1995.
Similarly, Barry was an eight-time winner of the Legends Tour, Europe’s equivalent to the Champions Tour.

Barry Lane, a former Ryder Cup player, has died.
At the age of 62, he breathed his last.
Barry’s death has yet to be properly reported, while other stories claim he died following a “short illness.”
Following his death on December 31, 2022, a flood of loving sentiments flooded social media.
Former Master champion Ian Woosnam expressed his feelings on Twitter, writing, “Very, very sad news… “Rest in peace, my friend.”
Similarly, DP World Tour Chief Executive Keith Pelley issued a statement in honor of Barry’s character and game.
“We are deeply saddened to learn of Barry Lane’s passing,” the Canadian wrote.
He commended Barry’s achievements on the European Tour and the Legends Tour, saying it demonstrated his passion for the game.
Keith went on to say that everyone on the European Tour is thinking of Barry’s wife Camilla, the rest of the Lane family, and his many golfing pals.
“What a sad way to start 2023,” wrote Ewan Murray. “Bryan was a joy to play golf with, and to share his Company,” he said, expressing his best regards to “those he’s left behind far too soon.”
In addition to golf, former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler stated, “Rip Barry… an absolute legend of a bloke, will be sadly missed.”

Barry Douglas is survived by his wife Camilla and their children
Barry Douglas Lane was born in Hayes, Middlesex, but spent his childhood in Bracknell.
Barry began playing golf at the age of 14 and became an assistant professional at Downshire Golf Club at the age of 16.
For eight years, he worked as an assistant at the club.
He was married and on an emotional journey to Mauritius last month with his wife, Camilla.
The trip was for the season-ending MCB Tour Championship on the Legends Tour.
Despite his illness, Barry was able to say goodbye to his teammates and friends and deliver the Rookie of the Year award, which had been renamed in his honor, to Brazil’s Adilson Da Silva.
Paul McGinley, a fellow player, claimed he was the “sweetest guy to the very end” and came despite being in critical condition, which “says a lot about his bravery and the close kinship and friendships we all form on tour.”
Barry is survived by his wife Camilla and his three children from his first marriage, Elliot, Emma, and Benjamin.
The PGA has sent its profound sympathies to them, as well as to his other family members and a large number of friends.
