Inge Auerbacher was born on December 31, 1934 in Kippenheim, Germany. She and fellow Holocaust survivor Elly Gross both penned memoirs detailing their World War II-era experiences. From 1942 until 1945, she was imprisoned at the Terezin concentration camp. She was among the one percent of the camp’s inhabitants who survived the ordeal.
