The first quarter of the Buffalo Bills game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday night was called off when Bills safety Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field.
After tackling Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins, he quickly climbed to his feet before collapsing as athletic trainers rushed to his aid.
On the field, Hamlin received CPR before being loaded into an ambulance and brought to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
According to the Bills, he “suffered a cardiac attack” following the blow, and “his heartbeat was recovered on the field.” His status is critical right now because he is sedated.
Demar Hamilton, a Bills safety for Monday Night Football against the Bengals, is critically ill, but his vital signs have returned to normal.
After falling on the field, he was given CPR for a short period of time before being taken to the UC medical facility.
The competition has been postponed. The Seahawks will play the Rams on Sunday at 12:30 p.m.
The Seahawks must obviously win in order for the Lions to defeat the Packers.
If the Packers win on Sunday night, they will be the seventh seed in the NFC playoffs.
