She was born on January 6, 1976, in Bordeaux, France. Isha was born in Sierra Leone to a Sierra Leonean family.

She returned to their homeland at the age of seven and was raised as a Muslim.

Her mother was a teacher, and her father worked for the Sierra Leone government. She had three siblings.

She attended Fourah Bay College School and, after matriculating, went to the United Kingdom to further her education in 1992.

She finished her A-levels and went on to Trinity College, Cambridge, to study.

Before joining Sky in 2002, she worked as a presenter for the BBC, TWI, and CNN.

Sesay was the anchor for “Good Morning Sports Fans,” a part of Sky Sports News, for three years while at Sky.
