James Bell was born on December 1, 1891 in Virginia. He appeared with Richard Chamberlain in the 1963 film Twilight of Honor. After studying at Virginia Tech, he made his Broadway debut in the 1920 production of The Bad Man and went on to earn his first screen credit in the 1933 film The King’s Vacation.
