He is also a member of Matlock’s band the Philistines and has contributed to Matlock’s albums Open Mind and Born Running.

He and Matlock founded the supergroup the International Swingers in 2011, and their first full-length album, The International Swingers, was released in 2015.

In January 2013, he released “The Shape of Things to Come,” a three-track CD, then after a year, he distributes Everything’s Getting Closer to Being Over on his own website.

James also served as a backup guitarist on their “Electric 13” world tour. 

Since 2014, the musician has been a member of the Holy Holy band, performing David Bowie’s music.

He also appeared on Daphne Guinness’s 2018 CD, Daphne And The Golden Chord.
