Juan Pablo Raba Vidal was born on 14 January 1977 in Bogotá, Colombia, under the sign of Capricorn. He is the son of Argentine entrepreneur Ricardo Raba and writer and fine art restorer Mara Eugenia Vidal.

Juan spent his early years in his hometown of Bogotá, but after his parents’ divorce, he relocated to Spain with his father, despite the fact that he is Colombian and of mixed heritage. Juan studied advertising as part of his education.

On December 6, 2003, Juan Pablo Raba married journalist Paula Quinteros. They separated three years later, and their divorce was formalized in 2007.

Following that, he was romantically connected with Venezuelan actress Marjorie de Sousa. Juan began seeing Mónica Fonseca, a journalist and TV host, after they split up.

On August 8, 2011, the pair married. They have two children: a son, Joaquin Raba Fonseca, born in 2012, and a girl, Josephine Joie Raba, born in 2018. They currently reside in Miami, Florida.

Juan Pablo Raba began his career as a model in Colombia. He quickly began taking acting classes with Colombian educator Edgardo Roman, and he later attended New York’s Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute.

In 1998, he made his television debut as Eduardo in “Amor En Forma,” and in 1999, he played Isidro in “Marido Y Mujer.”

The following year, he was cast as Andres Velásquez in “La Reina De Queens,” as well as in the drama “Chronicle Of A Death Foretold,” based on Gabriel Garca Márquez’s novel.

Juan was cast as Luis ngel Perdomo in “Viva La Pepa” in 2001, and subsequently as Alejandro Rondón in “La Nia De Mis Ojos” in 2001 and 2002. From 2002 to 200, he played Oréstes Villanueva Mercouri in “Mi Gorda Bella,” then Aureliano Paz in “Estrambótica Anastasia,” and finally Esteban Marn in “Por Amor A Gloria” (2005-06).

Juan got the role of Fede in Riccardo Gabrielli R.’s Colombian short film “Anillo De Compromiso” in 2006, and Jaime Villalba in the made-for-television drama film “Soltera Y Sin Compromiso” in 2007. During the same year, he also co-produced the drama film “Cuando Rompen Las Olas.”

In 2006 and 2007, he played Juan Andrés Gutiérrez in “Y Los Declaro Marido Y Mujer,” and later Martn Monsalve in “Sobregiro De Amor” (2007). In 2007, he made his cinematic debut as Carlos – El Amante in the comedy “Una Abuela Virgen,” followed by roles as Carlos in the romantic comedy “Ni Tan Largos… Ni Tan Cortos,” written and directed by Héctor Palma, and Bigote in the adventure picture “Puras Joyitas.”

Following that, he appeared in telenovelas such as “Kartel,” “Tiempo Final,” and “Sin Retorno,” among others.

By the end of the decade, Juan had also played Leo in the 2009 romantic comedy “Da Naranja,” Said Hashim in “El Clon” (2010), and Alejandro Botero in “Los Caballeros Las Prefieren Brutas” (2010).

Juan’s first appearance in the following decade was as Jaime Gutiérrez Solana in “La Reina Del Sur,” followed by his portrayal of Alex in Henry Rivero’s drama film “En Coma” in 2011. International Notoriety

Juan played professional Paraguayan soccer player Daro Segovia in the 2015 biographical drama film “The 33,” directed by Patricia Riggen, after guest-starring in “El Corazón Del Océano” in 2014. Following that, he rose to international prominence as the inhuman Joey Gutierrez in the third season of the ABC superhero series “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” (2015-2016).

Simultaneously, he was cast as Gustavo Gaviria in the Netflix crime thriller series “Narcos” from 2015 to 2016. He next played Carlos in the Spanish drama film “7 Aos” (2016), Herman Gomez in Ric Roman Waugh’s 2017 indie drama “Shot Caller,” and Ricky ‘Buddha’ Ortiz in the History Channel drama series “Six” (2017-18).
