Kayla Braud- Professional Career
Kayla began her athletic career as a softball player in high school. She was a member of the Marist High School softball team, where her grandfather was the coach, and she played for the Eugene Thunder for over ten years.
Kayla was the first all-state honoree and most valuable player during all four seasons of her high school career, having led the team to Nationals seven times and breaking records almost immediately in her freshman year. In her junior and senior years, she was awarded Oregon 4A Player of the Year, and ESPN Rise ranked her the number one record-breaker.
She received many honorary titles during her senior year, including the 2013 class award, which recognizes the qualities of NCAA Division I senior student-athletes in four areas: community, classroom, character, and competition.
She also served as an individual hitting and fielding coach in 2010 and interned at the Brand Marketing Department for a few months during her senior year in 2013. In 2014, Kayla was hired by ESPN as a collegiate softball analyst right after graduation.
She began her career as a commentator and studio analyst for the game’s regular season and postseason. She eventually joined the SEC network and co-hosted the show Rally cap with Dari Nowkhah, where she discussed weekly softball games and advancements in the softball and baseball fields. She began working for the SEC network as an in-game analyst in 2019.
