Drummer, vocalist and songwriter for The Doobie Brothers who would also co-found a group called Southern Pacific alongside fellow Doobie Brother John McFee. Keith Knudsen was born on February 18, 1948 in Le Mars, IA. He and John Hartman were both drummers for The Doobie Brothers. He first began drumming while a student at Princeton High School. He played in a club band and with a group called Blind Joe Mendlebaum Blues Band before becoming the drummer for organist/vocalist Lee Michaels.
