However, when she decided to stop teaching, she made the best decision of her life. In 1978, she auditioned for the Uta Hagens School’s HB Studio. Following the auditions, Caldwell went to NEC and pressed Ward to talk with her.

She had the good fortune of being accepted into both Hagens and Ward. Caldwell spent his first season at NEC acting in a number of productions, one of which was titled “Home.”
