Paquetá-Professional Career
His young career began in 2007 when he entered the youth system of CR Flamengo, one of Brazil’s most successful sports clubs in the twentieth century, as a 10-year-old.
He won the Copa So Paulo de Jniores, Brazil’s most prestigious youth soccer event, with the club’s young team in 2016.
Soon after the competition, Lucas was promoted to the club’s senior professional team.
In the 2017 Copa do Brasil final (the best domestic knockout soccer competition in Brazil), he scored the sole goal for CR Flamengo in a 1-1 tie with Cruzeiro Esporte Clube.
CR Flamengo, on the other hand, went on to lose the penalty shootout 5-3.
Lucas scored the sole goal for CR Flamengo in a 1-1 draw against Argentinian professional sports team Club Atlético Independiente in the second leg of the final of the 2017 Copa Sudamericana (the second-tier club cup in South American soccer, ranked below the Copa Libertadores).
However, CR Flamengo lost the overall rubber by a 3-2 margin on aggregate due to a 2-1 setback in the first leg of the final.
