In 1976, Markie worked in the editorial department of Mark Goodson’s game program “Family Freud,” and between 1976 and 1977, she worked as an associate producer for the CBS game show “Double Dare.” In 1978, she worked as a card dealer on the NBC game program “Card Sharks.”

In 1978, Markie made her television debut in a small role in “Frankie And Annette: The Second Time Around,” a made-for-television comedy film.
