What Did Maxine Wahome Do If She Isn’t Dead?

Maxine Wahome, a well-known rally driver, was charged with beating her partner, Asad Khan, before the Milimani Law courts on Wednesday.

Wahome was arrested on Jamhuri Day, December 12, and was held in police custody for two nights before appearing before Magistrate Benard Ochoi yesterday.

On Tuesday, police requested a 14-day detention for Maxine in order to conduct additional investigations into the event that took Khan to the hospital.

According to state prosecutor James Gachoka, Khan was in serious condition in the high-dependency unit and was unable to provide a description of what happened.

According to Gachoka, the complainant Khan was admitted to the Avenue Hospital’s High Dependency Unit in critical condition with significant deep slashes on his right ankle.

Because of her height and the fact that several of the witnesses in the case live in their Kilimani, Nairobi, apartment, the prosecution argued that Maxine Wahome should also be remanded in custody.

Details On Maxine Wahome’s Arrest And Charges

Wahome was detained on December 12, 2022, at a residence in Kilimani after reportedly abusing and critically injuring her partner, Asad Khan.

Furthermore, Gachoka ordered Maxine Wahome’s incarceration so that she may be sent to the government chemist for a DNA test before being charged.

The prosecution also informed the court that Wahome’s associates were being sought.

The Safari Rally driver, who claimed to be a victim in need of protection, asked the court to prevent the media from covering the case.

Asad Khan wounded himself while attacking Maxine Wahome, according to her counsel.

The court declined to force the media to stop reporting on the issue because her claims that she is a victim have not been substantiated.

On Tuesday, Wahome’s attorneys requested the court to limit media coverage of the case, stating that she is the victim, not the offender.

Ochoi refused the state’s plea to keep her in jail for two weeks, citing a lack of compelling reasons.
