Suicide or murder for Michael Brooks?
Brooks, a 19-year-old Preston Foyer resident, was discovered dead in the River Ribble in Penwortham. Michael Brooks was last seen in the early hours of January 14, 2018. He lived in Preston Foyer, a Preston apartment building on Lawson Street.
On the evening of January 13, 2018, Michael was seen snorting the substance before meeting up with Connor Rishton, an associate of a friend, at the Greyfriars pub in Friargate, Preston, according to testimony.
Throughout the evening, Michael took two more doses of the medication.
The court was advised that 2CB is a relatively new chemical that has received limited research and that little is known about its effects.
but they can be just as dangerous, and their use is becoming a growing concern in the United Kingdom.
The tragic example of Michael Brooks highlights the dangers of taking such chemicals for experimenting,
as well as the importance of increasing awareness of the risks involved.
Michael Brooks’ family may never know how he ended up in the River Ribble after going missing at Avenham Park and being found dead there.
Michael’s family has asked anyone with information about the night he went missing to contact police after the coroner returned an open verdict.
Two walkers discovered Michael’s remains less than a mile from where he went missing, 23 days after he went missing.
Missing Man Found Dead In Penwortham’s River Ribble
Michael Brooks went missing on January 14, 2018, after allegedly ingesting the “legal high” 2CB.
Michael’s disappearance was investigated by Coroner James Newman,
who discovered that a nine-minute movement gap could not be properly explained.
There were two probable possibilities for why he might have vanished during this time period, but none was supported by evidence.
He could have been driven into the river with a knife or fell in by accident.
Despite exhaustive searches and information demands,
Michael has yet to be discovered, and the reason for his absence remains unknown.
Coroner James Newman investigated Michael’s disappearance,
and the results of his investigation resulted in an open verdict. The matter is still open for debate.
Michael was purportedly in Avenham Park with a buddy at the time, but there was insufficient evidence to support either of the two possibilities.
Michael fell into the ocean unintentionally rather than being driven into it at knifepoint.
Michael’s location remained unknown despite many inquiries and searches.
The inquest ruled that Michael’s death was an unsolved issue, and the inquiry is still ongoing.

According to witnesses,
Michael Brooks was forced to jump from the Old Tram Bridge by two guys using knives in order to pay a drug debt.
Before learning of his death, friends and relatives, mountain rescue, and fire and rescue services undertook a two-week search.
Connor Rishton, the last person to see Michael alive, said before the inquest that Michael “disappeared into the night”
after the two went to observe stars in Avenham Park at 1.20 a.m. on January 13 while high on hallucinogenic substances.
Because the case has yet to be solved, we don’t know if Michael Brooks committed suicide or murder when we wrote this piece.
