Mike Tomlin- Professional Career
Tomlin began his coaching career at Virginia Military Institute in 1995.
Because of his exceptional qualities, he was hired to coach defensive backs at Arkansas State University in 1997 and stayed for two years.
He was afterward hired by the University of Cincinnati for his exceptional teaching abilities.
He stayed there for a couple of years until being hired as the Tampa Bay Buccaneer’s head coach.
After many years of hard work, the Vikings’ head coach, Brad Childress, hired him as defensive coordinator in 2006.
Later, he was chosen for an interview for the vacant position of Head Coach with the 2005 Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers.
He replaced Bill Cowher, who had been with the team for over 15 years.
He also signed a three-year contract extension with the team and was named its 16th Head Coach.
In November 2011, he defeated the Cincinnati Bengals 24-17 in his 50th game as Steeler head coach.
In October 2017, he was named the third coach in NFL history to finish with a better record in his first ten seasons with one outstanding club.
He was also named the youngest coach in Super Bowl history, at the age of 36, and it was all possible because of his dedication, hard work, and the team’s excellent performance.
