In La Liga, he also played for Getafe and Rayo Vallecano, and when on loan at Celtic in 2013, he won the Scottish double.

He also appeared in two Copa América championships for Venezuela.

He signed with Al-Gharafa Sports Club of the Qatar Stars League for an undisclosed amount on September 30, 2013.

He began his professional career shortly after, in 2004.

He was loaned out by LaLiga giants to teams in the Spanish football system’s second and third tiers for five consecutive seasons.

He was sold to Getafe CF in 2010 and signed a four-and-a-half-year contract with the club due to Valencia’s striker surplus at the time.

He also made his Venezuelan National Team debut on August 16, 2006, when he was 21 years old.

The match against Honduras was a friendly that finished in a 0-0 tie.

He became a regular for the national squad, who competed in the 2010 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, over time.

During his stint as an official Valencia player, heonly appeared in a few games.

When he did play, however, he made a huge influence.

He scored a hat-trick in a 4–1 home win over Stack Football in the UEFA Europa League on August 27, 2009.

In the 2018–19 season, he and his side won the title, defeating Goa 1–0 in extra time in the final.

This featured two goals in Getafe’s 3-0 victory over Valencia, his previous club.

He signed a two-year contract with Bengaluru FC, a newly founded ISL team, after brief stints at Gharafa and Rayo Vallecano.
