She started videotaping herself doing her haircut step by step so that her friends and family could try it out for themselves. As a consequence of the connections created by friends and family, her videos began to gain popularity.

Her spouse encourages her to make films in which she styles the hair of their girls. As a result, they started uploading footage to YouTube.

A video-sharing platform approached Mindy a few months later to create a new channel. Mindy and his husband accepted the offer. As a result, they started “Cute Girls Hairstyles” in 2009. The couple decided to collaborate on it because Mindy would create videos and Shawn would handle the technical parts.
