Najee Harris- Professional Career
Najee began his football career in high school, where he was a member of the school’s football team. In his sophomore year of high school, he rushed for 2263 yards and 24 touchdowns, and in his senior year, he rushed for 2775 yards and 34 touchdowns.
He had an impressive high school record, which drew the attention of several top college football teams, including the Alabama “crimson tide” and the Ohio State Buckeyes. Later, his career took off when he began playing for the University of Alabama’s “crimson tide” football team as a running back.
He played 14 games as a freshman and finished the season with 370 years and 61 carries. He appeared in 15 games as a sophomore alongside Damien Harris and Josh Jacobs.
He had 783 yards on 117 carries and four touchdowns on the season. Najee performed admirably against Arkansas State. After Damian and Josh left for the NFL, he took over as the primary running back in his junior year. In 2019, he rushed for 1224 yards and 13 touchdowns.
He was expected to enter the 2020 NFL Draft, but he stayed to finish his senior year of college. In 2020, he returned to the team as a running back, and they defeated the Georgia Bulls and the Missouri Tigers.
Najee had his best game of the season against Ole Miss, gaining 206 yards and scoring six touchdowns. He finished his college football career with a record that was both impressive and in great shape.
The Pittsburgh Steelers selected him as the 24th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft as a running back. Through six games, Najee has surpassed Le’Veon Ball’s rookie record to become the Steelers’ leading rusher.
