Ontronik Khachaturian- Professional Career
Khachaturian collaborated with System of a Down for around three years, during which time they recorded demos titled “Untitled 1995 Demo,” “Demo Tape 1,” “Demo Tape 2,” “Demo Tape 3,” and “Demo Tape 4.”
In 1997, he suffered a hand injury while practicing Jeet Kune Do, forcing him to leave the band. Johannes Dolmayan then took his place.
Following his departure from System of a Down, Ontronik co-founded Mt. Helium (previously known as the Apex Theory) with Art Karamian and David Hakopyan.
Topsy-Turvy, the band’s debut studio album, was released on April 2, 2002, and featured music such as Mucus Shifters, Bravo, Aisle Always, In Books, That’s All!, Right Foot, and Add Mission.
The album charted at #6 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart and #157 on the Billboard 200.
In 2002, he quit Mt. Helium due to musical issues.
Ontronik produced the band’s debut extended play, Order Through Chaos, in 2010 as a member and co-founder of the industrial rock group KillMatriarch.
He’s also working on a solo project called OnTronik.
