While living on his farm, Patrick learned firsthand the value of rural America.

He attended Sam Houston State University in Texas, where he graduated with honors.

Patrick Gottsch- Professional Career

Prior to completing his schooling in Texas, he relocated to Chicago in 1977 and worked as a commodity dealer for the Chicago Mercantile Exchange until 1982.

He afterward returned to his native state of Nebraska and began working for E.T installs.

E.T installations is a company that sells and installs C-band residential satellites.

At the time, the company launched nearly 2,000 satellites into the Midwest, propelling it to the title of the nation’s largest home satellite retailer in 1987.

Superior Cattle Auction was the first to use satellite footage, and it has since evolved to become the largest livestock auction company in the United States.

Patrick dreamed of combining all of his experiences and getting a position that would provide him with help for the rest of his life.

As a result, he planned to build a full-time rural television network that would operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

He created Rural Free Delivery Television (RFD-TV) on DISH Network in December 2000.

The channel’s distribution was expanded to DIRECTV in March 2002, and all key agreements were completed by major cable networks such as Mediacom, Charter, Optimum, Suddenlink, Comcast, AT&T/U-verse, Time Warner Cable, Bright House, and Cox.

Rural Free Delivery Television is now available in more than 50 million homes across the country. With the creation of the other two networks, the group has grown.

Since 2009, it has been joined on its channel by Rural Radio (2013) and Cowboy Channel (2017).

In 2017, Patrick founded the Cowboy channel, which became the first 24-hour network.

It is oriented to western sports and lifestyles and is now based in the Fort Worth Stockyards.

The channel provides “live” coverage of the vast majority of American activities taking place across the country.

The channel highlights the toughest and most talented cowboys and cowgirls.

With the support of satellite partners, the channel now owns almost 40 million homes. Cowboy Channel Plus, the channel’s OTT streaming platform, was launched in March 2020.
