He is known for having accepted an invitation in 1982 to sing for Pat Metheny as part of The Pat Metheny Group. He started his career as a musician in 1977 when he joined the ALAS group. He went on to release his first solo album in 1982. In 1991, he gained attention when his album Tango 4 went platinum and was named Best Rock Album of the Year by the Argentine Association of Entertainment Critics.
