Penny Mordaunt is a well-known British Conservative Party politician who is now serving in the House of Commons. She has been a Paymaster General since February 2020 and has been working for Portsmouth North since 2010. Oliver Dowden served as Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s predecessor.

Penny is a single woman at the moment. Penny met Paul Murray while they were both undergraduates at Reading University in 1999.
The pair married after their relationship ended, but their marriage terminated a year later with a divorce. Penny began dating Ian Lyon, a classical singer, a few years later. They had been in a long-term relationship, but for some reason they are no longer together.

In November 2003, Penny was elected as a Conservative candidate for Portsmouth North. Penny was re-elected in the 2010 general election in January 2006, and then again in the 2015 and 2017 general elections.
She was elected to the Public Bill Committee for the Defense Reform Act of 2014 after her election. After Priti Patel resigned from her position as Secretary of State for International Development on November 9, 2017, she was appointed to the position.
Penny was appointed Minister for Women and Equalities in 2018, succeeding Amber Rudd, who resigned owing to the Windrush Scandal.
Following that, due to Gavin Williamson’s dismissal, Penny was appointed as the first Defense Secretary on May 1, 2019. Following Boris Johnson’s election as Prime Minister on July 24, 2019,
Penny resigned from the government. In February 2020, she returned to the government as the Paymaster General in the Cabinet Office, succeeding Oliver Dowden. Penny served as the UK alternate co-chair of the Joint Committee on the EU Withdrawal Agreement. Penny is now the only female member of Parliament who serves in the Royal Naval Reserve.
