He and D12 released their debut studio album Devil’s Night on June 19, 2001, through Shady Records and Interscope Records.
The album won the 2002 ECHO Award for “Best Hip-Hop/Urban Artist (International)” and peaked at #1 on the US Billboard 200 list as well as the US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums (Billboard).
The Recording Industry Association of America also certified it as ‘2 Platinum’ (RIAA).
D12’s second and final studio album, D12 World, was released on April 27, 2004, and reached number one on both the US Billboard 200 chart and the US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums (Billboard) chart.
He made his theatrical film debut as Lil’ Tic in the drama picture 8 Mile in 2002.
Many magazines named it one of the finest films of 2002, and it stars Eminem, Mekhi Phifer, Brittany Murphy, Michael Shannon, Anthony Mackie, and Kim Basinger.
Proof’s solo debut studio album, I Miss the Hip Hop Store, was released on June 15, 2004, by Iron Fist Records.
