He, however, had first appeared as the character Admiral Hargreaves in the 1977 film The Spy Who Loved Me. Robert Brown was born on July 23, 1921, in England. He was later succeeded as M by Judi Dench, who made her debut as the character in the 1995 James Bond film Goldeneye. Prior to his work in the James Bond film franchise, he made a career out of playing bit parts in TV and film. He made his professional acting debut in the 1948 TV film Good Friday as Herod.
